About Brunswick, ME
Brunswick is located
2.5 hours north of Boston, 30 minutes north of Portland, ME, and
just 10 minutes north of
Freeport, Maine, the home of the L.L. Bean flagship store.
The town is bordered by the Androscoggin River to the north and
Casco Bay to the south. There are two great state park beaches
just a 30 minute drive down two amazing peninsulas, which are
beautiful places to visit any time of the year. Hiking
trails can be found within minutes of town, or just walk out the
door from the Training center and you are on a 3 mile
recreational path maintained by the town year round.
Seasonal cruises are available throughout the mid-coast.
Brunswick, ME is a community for all ages with activities
available for all. Brunswick
is steeped in history, rich in cultural heritage and
full of scenic beauty. The flavor of downtown Brunswick is a
quaint New England town.
During the summer you might find a community band playing on
the town Mall - a large grassy park in the center of town that
has served as a meeting and community center for generations. Or,
in winter, ice skating, even at night.
There are retirement communities, golf courses, great
restaurants and excellent health care facilities. Bowdoin
College calls Downtown home and provides cultural, sporting and
educational opportunities for local residents and visitors.
The Composite Industry has grown a
large presence in this region. Our partnership with the
Southern Maine Community College is allowing us to provide
trained individuals to this service sector and work alongside
with companies such as Harbor Technologies, Brunswick
Technologies Inc/ St. Gobain Tech. and J.S. Boatworks. These
local businesses tie the marine community to its long local history. Bath Iron
Works, a growing health care community, a creative economy
group and many educational organizations are also working in
the Brunswick region, providing balance to this beautiful
community.
